Penguin Securities group announced the appointment of Chung Yee Mak as Chief Compliance and Risk Officer.

Chung Yee Mak joins from Sparrow Tech Private Limited where she served as Chief Compliance and Risk Officer and was responsible for second-line oversight of the Enterprise Risk and Compliance Management Program to meet local licensing regulatory requirements.

• Graduated from National University of Singapore with a major in Business Administration.
• With extensive years of experience in risk and compliance, Chung Yee is adept at driving control, compliance, and governance systems, conducting enterprise risk assessments, and carrying out internal auditing, forensic, and investigative procedures. Her ability to identify gaps within companies and create practical solutions has made her services valuable to a diverse range of businesses, including multinational corporations and SGX-listed companies with a presence across the Asia Pacific region.
• During her recent employment with both Sparrow Tech and PayPal, she has deepened her expertise in fintech operations, specifically focusing on payment and digital payment token services. Notably, she played a pivotal role in assisting Sparrow Tech and PayPal throughout their applications for the Major Payment Institution (MPI) license.
• Chung Yee will play a pivotal role within the Penguin Securities group and its affiliates as Chief Compliance and Risk Officer. While none of the entities in Penguin Securities group are currently regulated entities, in relation to any affiliates which may be required to be so regulated, Chung Yee will play an instrumental role in working to obtain the necessary licenses to stay ahead of the regulatory curve.
